The Food and Beverages Association of Ghana has called on the government to undertake comprehensive reforms at the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) before considering any further tariff increases.

FABAG argues that persistent power reliability issues and escalating energy costs are among the greatest threats facing food and beverage manufacturers in Ghana. The association maintains that reform of ECG's operational structure must precede any discussion of additional cost burdens on industry.

The association presented detailed evidence of how energy unreliability affects production schedules, increases wastage, and undermines competitiveness — urging the government to treat the matter as a priority economic issue.
